Article Marketing- Not A One Time Thing

Many people look at article marketing as being the “easy” way to make it online. That all you have to do is write an article, when in fact there is much more to it then that. Article marketing done right, takes consistancy, a refular output of articles and most of all, mass volume.

You may luck out and get that one article that drives traffic in droves and makes a bunch of sales, but the momentum won’t hold forever. You need to be consistantly putting out new, well written, informational articles to see the real profibility in article marketing.

Too often, you will hear people say article marketing doesn’t work, and odds are, it didn’t work for them, but the reasoning why it didn’t work for them is that they believed it to be a one hit wonder type of marketing. That you simply had to write 10 or 20 articles and be done. When in reality, you need to write regular articles (think 1 or more a day), you need to promote your articles, you need to build links to your articles, you need to get the largest distribution you can for your articles, and then and only then will you see the true power behind article marketing.

Instead you can make an article marketing plan, a plan for success. To do this, take out a pen and paper. Figure out what sites you are using article marketing to drive traffic to. Make a list of them. Now the ultimate goal would be to write one new article a day, for each of those sites. But perhaps you can’t do that. In that case at bare minimum you should try to write one article a week per site.

So you’ve written your article, now what?

Well get it published. Post it to your own site, post it to Web 2.0 properties, submit it to the article directories, use it as a guest post on a blog in your niche and link back to your own site, post it as a note on Facebook with a link to your site at the end. Long story short, get it out there.

Now it’s out there, let it be.

That’s right, let it be. Reason I say let it be is you want to see which version, which copy of it is coming out on top, give it a week then check out your keywords in the SERP’s. Find which one is doing best. Then promote that article. Backlink to it, set up WEB 2.0 links to it, do whatever you can to raise that one in the SERP’s or if it is already at number 1, do what you can to cement it’s place there or on the first page, and then move on.

Keep on doing this, and I promise in time, you will not only see your article marketing efforts begin to pay off, but your income should start to show significant signs of it as well. And before you know it, you will be an article marketing master.
